Fauna
Portable still lifes, naturalistic and enchanting worlds, all encompassed in a miniature dimension. Frogs, swallows, lizards, salamanders, butterflies, beetles and flies frolic among minute flowers and leaves, sometimes overlooking the mysterious depths of a pond evoked by smoky quartz. These meticulous recreations of flora and fauna echo the Dutch Golden Age of old master paintings, albeit with precious metals (rose or blackened gold) and gems (rose and round-cut diamonds, emeralds and rubies, among others). All these lively characters appear benevolent – precious companions, as much as lucky charms – thereby once again using whimsicality to have the wearer become one with nature.
